## How is XAT 2027 marked?

XLRI expects about 95 questions, each carrying 1 mark, and deducts 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. You can skip up to 8 questions without penalty; each question skipped after the 8th costs 0.1 marks. The General Knowledge section has no negative marking and does not count towards your overall percentile or cutoff score, though XLRI considers it in selection for its own programmes. A scientific calculator is available within the exam interface.

## How does XAT preparation fit into the CAT programme?

At T.I.M.E. Coimbatore, XAT is taught inside the CAT programme rather than as a separate course. XLRI itself says XAT preparation aligns with other MBA entrance preparation except for the Decision Making section, and T.I.M.E. teaches that section specifically. The AIMXAT mock series is included, and post-XAT WAT, GD and PI preparation is provided.

## Who can take XAT, and where?

XLRI requires a recognised bachelor's degree of at least three years' duration, or its equivalent, in any discipline. Candidates appearing for their final exams can also apply, subject to XLRI's cut-off date. XAT is accepted by 250+ B-schools and held in 100+ test cities across India, Coimbatore among them. It is a common entrance test, but each participating institute has its own selection process and criteria.
